The Golden Swamp AKA Pantano Dorado
You have stumbled into Pantano Dorado, or more affectionately call “The Golden Swamp”.
Here you will find the latest on my current book, Khylindril’s Tower. This is a story I have been working on for more years then I would like to admit, but I have decided it is either now or never and I am determined to complete the novel.
I have decided to write it like a serial novel and release a few chapters at a time. By setting these goals, I am hopeful I can write consistently and finish the book. I have no illusions or delusions of ever being published, but I think I tell a good story and wanted to share my work with others who might enjoy it as well. If you do like my work, you are welcome to donate to the cause through Patreon.
I have also include a few short stories I have written. Some are better than others, but all of them are authentic. You can check out the Downloads page for all of them.
The Legend of Pantano Dorado
My father lived in a small cabin on a canal that fed Lake Erie. From his southern facing living room window, it looked like a pond and with the sun setting, it looked almost golden. He used to say he lived On Golden Swamp; a nod to the On Golden Pond movie with Henry and Jane Fonda. The woman he was also dating at the time translated brochures into Spanish for a living, and she dubbed the place Pantano Dorado… or the Golden Swamp.
He even had Pantano Dorado t-shirts made and my sister and I wore them proudly.
My father passed when I was very young and he instilled my desire to be an author. His journey was a difficult one and he never ended up writing anything other than a few poems. While he wanted to be Hemingway; I just want to tell a good story. Hopeful I can finish it. I think he would be proud.
